Hi! My name is Bryce Harrison and I have the best job in the world, which is to say that I am the Director of Choirs at Mission Vista High School. I have served in this role since 2013 and I am SO STOKED to come back year after year to make music with the fabulous students of MVHS.

           Most people who become choir directors have a long history of singing and music making before earning a degree, and ultimately pursing a career in music; for me that certainly wasn’t the case. In fact, when I was in high school the choir teacher tried to recruit me to sing for three years straight, to which I always responded, “NO WAY!” You would not know it by looking at me now, but in high school I was rocking a Guns N' Roses t-shirt and a shaggy head of hair. Choir did NOT fit my persona, or so I thought…

 

           During my senior year of high school, if for no other reason than a lack of other options, I finally signed up for choir. I will never forget the feeling that came over me during that first rehearsal.  Singing and making music with a group of my peers was unlike anything I had ever experienced.  Choir changed my life, So much so that I decided to make it my life’s work. A few months after graduating high school and finishing my first year of singing, I enrolled at California Baptist University as a music major.

           Now I find myself in the very fortunate position of being able to share my passion with the students of Mission Vista High School. I strive to give each and every singer that joins choir an experience that will add value to their lives. Whether you are like me, and thought that you would NEVER sing, or you are a seasoned performer who is interested in pursing a career in the arts, there is an ensemble at MVHS for you.
